Dr Margaret Bryant

Trained in Otago, Diploma of Obstetrics in Auckland and later worked in the UK, Vocationally trained & Registered in General Practice. Margy has special interests in family and preventive healthcare, womens health and contraception, HRT and options - providing depoliticised information so women can make an informed choice. Increasing experience in skin lesion removal including small skin cancers (excluding face) and potentially minimal scarring/scar free removal of some raised benign lesions with diathermy.

Dr Zina Emmanuel

Zina has had the opportunity to work in multitude of Medical Specialities, making her a highly experienced doctor. Qualified as a doctor in Iraq, vocationally trained in New Zealand and worked at several Hospitals in Auckland before joining Byron Medical in 2004. She enjoys working here as its a very established practice with a great team. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice and Preventive Medicine with special interests in Women's Health, Men's Health, Diabetes, Minor Surgery and Travel Medicine. Most of all she enjoys establishing a good relationship with her patients and their families leading to provision of superior medical care.   

Dr Ajay Makal

Ajay did his basic Medical graduation and Post graduation in India. Moved to England in 2002 and worked in various hospitals for nearly 5 years and gained extensive knowledge in different aspects of Medicine before moving over to Auckland in 2007. Since then he has worked in different hospitals and finally moved into General Practice in 2010. He has been a Fellow of the College of GP's since 2015. His main interests are in Mens Health, Paediatrics, Cardiovascular Disease, Allergy, skin excision of moles. He believes in delivery of excellent healthcare by combining clinical knowledge and effective communication. Ajay also works as Clinical Director and GP Liaison at Comprehensive Care Primary Health Organisation. 

Dr Sarah Hickton-Burnett

Sarah is an experienced GP and vocationally trained in General Practice.  She trained at Auckland and has a Diploma of Obstetrics Auckland.  She moved to the U.K. for family reasons in 2008 and returned to New Zealand in 2019.  She has a Diploma of Sports and Exercise Medicine from University College London.  While in London she worked in Preventative healthcare, GP, Immigration and Musculoskeletal Medicine.  She has a special interest in musculoskeletal and sports and exercise medicine and optimises "health and wellbeing of all ages". 

Nursing Staff

Pammie

Very experienced nurse in our team.  Pammie trained in Hastings, with initial experience in Medical Nursing and later moved to Practice Nursing. Her skills include wound care and  dressings,  vaccination and nurse-led clinics in diabetes and asthma.

Elnaz

Qualified as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand in 2015 and speaks fluent Farsi. With working experience in medical, surgical and aesthetic areas. Her interests are in wound care management and immunisations. She is qualified in diabetic and cardiovascular risk assessment.

Dee

Trained as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand qualifying in 2008 and speaks fluent Mandarin.  Her special interests are in cervical screening, immunisations and wound care management.  She is qualified in asthma, cardiovascular and diabetes assessment.

Practice Manager

Sharon

Sharon has worked in a Paint and Panel business for many years and has now been working at Byron since 2018.  She is an avid cook and boatie.

Receptionist

Fiona

After having run her own business successfully in the past Fiona joined Byron Medical specialising in the Administration side of the practice.  When she is not working she loves travelling out the Auckland in her motorhome.

 

Jo

Joined Byron Medical in 2010 and loves working as part of a team. When she is not at work she would rather be out in the boat.
